Istanbul is home to the most adorable (and cheap!) cafes, where you can spend hours reading, catching up with friends, sipping on tea or coffee, and meeting some cute cats. Cihangir and the area around Galata Tower--both on the European side, in Beyoğlu--are two of the best neighborhoods for enjoying cafe culture. Here are some of my favorites!
Çukurcuma Antiques

Cihangir is a magical area, filled to the brim with antique shops--and this one serves up tea and coffee! Afterwards, take a stroll throughout the area and soak up the ivy-covered buildings and cobbled streets.
Rose Papillon

Rose Papillon is right by Galata Tower, so you can take a little pick-me-up here if you're out and about touring. It has a bit more of an Instagram vibe, so it's not the best if you're looking for more of a local experience, but the color scheme and jungle theme are divine.
Latife

Also near Galata Tower, Latife has a laidback and casual vibe, perfect for reading, eating a brownie, and playing a board game (Backgammon is popular in Turkey; I often played at a little shisha bar by my place!).
Privato

Privato is another cute cafe by Galata Tower. The patio out back is so refreshing!
