Right by Wall Street, Overstory is a sky-high rooftop bar offering 360-degree views of New York. In 2023, 50 Best ranked it as one of its top fifty bars in the entire world, noting the breadth of its cocktail options and its wraparound terrace. As it's very popular, I recommend making a reservation (although there is a $50 per person minimum should you make a booking); if you're going for more casual drinks and don't mind a bit of a wait, just walk in and get on the waitlist. My friend and I were told the wait would be about an hour and a half, so we went to a the Highwater Rooftop atop the nearby Indigo Hotel (it wasn't that great) in the meantime. Despite the long estimated wait time, our table was ready in twenty minutes. Because the weather was quite chilly and windy, we were seated in the intimate, cozy interior space; no one was seated outdoors but we were still able to go check out the area--I can imagine how spectacular it must be on a balmy summer evening. Cocktails are quite pricy at around $25, but soaking up the Art Deco ambience and the stunning views made it worth it! For more information, check out their website here.
