The ruins of St Dunstan-in-the-East, a church that was bombed during WWII, sits tucked away on a side street in the City of London (the area around Bank). It's completely free to visit, and its crumbling archways, gravestones, and ivy make it perfect for a walk, a picnic, or even a photoshoot a la Edgar Allan Poe. One of its architects was the famous Christopher Wren!
It's open every day from 8 am to 7 pm, and it's very close to other attractions--The Tower of London, The Royal Exchange, Leadenhall Market, the Gherkin, Sky Garden, The Ned, etc.--so you don't need to go out of your way for a visit. Be aware that it can often get crowded with folks there to to take pictures--I've even seen a couple getting their wedding shots taken here. Its exact address is St Dunstan's Hill, London EC3R 5DD, UK. Enjoy!
