Turkey

Some folks dispute the notion that Turkey is in the Middle East. I completely agree! The colonial and post-colonial world has classifications and demarcations that just don’t make sense, that don’t give proper tribute to the diversity and history of a certain region. For expediency, and due to geographic and cultural proximity, I’ve here included Turkey under the Middle East umbrella, while recognizing that the label “Middle East” comes with imperialist baggage I’d love to delve into with you.
